GEM National Teams

Our unique consortium structure means that the national teams are the life-blood of the GEM Research and the GEM community. National teams are based in academic institutions. They are responsible for:

• Conducting the Adult Population Survey
• Conducting the National Expert Survey
• Writing the annual National Report
• Building the profile and reputation of the project within their countries.

In 2008 there were 43 countries involved in GEM.

The national teams are an unrivalled source of information about entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship research in their country. They also have policy links and networks and are often based in internationally recognised centres for entrepreneurial activity.

National teams are self-funded through public and private sector sources. Money must be raised annually to support each national project.
