In most countries around the world, families are involved in the majority of business startup and mature business activities. This is among the key takeaways from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Family Entrepreneurship Report, released on Monday, 26 October. According to the study, 75% of entrepreneurs and 81% of established business owners co-own and/or co-manage their businesses with family members.
On our next GEM webinar, report authors and Babson College professors William B. Gartner and Matthew Allen will share more detail about the key findings from the report around:
- Rates and forms of family involvement in entrepreneurship
- Rates and forms of family involvement in established business activity
- Job creation in family entrepreneurship and established business ownership
- Market innovation in family entrepreneurship and established business ownership
Ramia Marielle El Agamy, Editor-in-Chief of Tharawat Magazine, will also participate on the webinar and share a practitioner's perspective. Tharawat Magazine is a global publication for family businesses and a product established by her family.
The webinar will be moderated by GEM Executive Director Aileen Ionescu-Somers and will take place on Thursday 29 October at 10:00 am EST / 15:00 CET.
