In most countries around the world, families are involved in the majority of business startup and mature business activities. This is among the key takeaways from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Family Entrepreneurship Report, released on Monday, 26 October. According to the study, 75% of entrepreneurs and 81% of established business owners co-own and/or co-manage their businesses with family members.
During a GEM webinar recorded on 29 October, report authors and Babson College professors William B. Gartner and Matthew Allen shared more detail about the key findings from the report. Ramia Marielle El Agamy, Editor-in-Chief of Tharawat Magazine, also participate and brought a practitioner's perspective (Tharawat Magazine is a global publication for family businesses and a product established by her family).
The webinar was moderated by GEM Executive Director Aileen Ionescu-Somers.
