Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Lithuania 2025/2026: The Changing Landscape of Entrepreneurship in Lithuania presents a comprehensive analysis of the latest national findings. The results reveal a country with rising entrepreneurial energy, stronger social recognition of entrepreneurship, and record-high levels of entrepreneurial intentions and Total Early-Stage Entrepreneurial Activity. Lithuania remains one of Europe's strongest entrepreneurial ecosystems, ranking first in Europe on the National Entrepreneurial Context Index in 2025. However, the findings also reveal continuing challenges in converting early-stage entrepreneurial activity into stable long-term business ownership. Business discontinuation increased in 2025, while the reasons for exit became more diverse, including both opportunity-driven sales and closures linked to administrative, supply-chain, and market pressures. The report also covers sectoral structure, innovation, gender differences, research and development transfer, and AI readiness. Lithuania's AI environment was assessed more positively than the EU average across all AI-related dimensions, although gaps remain in post-school education, skills development, and public discussion of ethical issues. The report shows that Lithuania's entrepreneurial ecosystem is no longer defined primarily by whether entrepreneurship is emerging, but increasingly by the quality, resilience, innovation intensity, and long-term developmental impact of that entrepreneurship.
