This report examines the state of entrepreneurship in Saskatchewan for 2023-24 using data from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM). The report presents findings from the GEM adult population survey conducted in 2023 across the three Western Provinces. The report is offered in conjunction with the like reports of the Youth Entrepreneurship in the Prairies: Results from the GEM Canada 2023 Survey and the GEM Provincial Report for Manitoba 2023. The report begins with a recap on the state of Saskatchewan for context before presenting findings in four areas: 1. Attitudes and Behaviours; 2. Economic Impact and Future Trends; 3. Demographic Dimensions; and 4. Youth Entrepreneurship. Throughout the report, comparisons are made between Alberta (AB), Saskatchewan (SK), Manitoba (MB), and Canada (using an average of aggregate Canadian GEM data). The report also compares 2023 with 2021 and 2019 results, where relevant, to reveal longitudinal changes in entrepreneurial attitudes.
